Blue Whale

That's a tail!
INTERESTING FACTS
The Blue Whales are the largest animal known to have been alive. That means it is bigger than any dinosaur known to have existed. They can grow to be 100 feet long and weigh up to 200 tons. That's as much as 200 elephants. They can also swim up to 20 miles per hour and they are not sprinters.

STATUS
There are under 5,000 left in the wild!

WHY THREATENED
They are being poached for "Scientific Research". I think they are breaking an international ban on commercial whaling and not really researching because they throw everything off the boat except the meat.

WHAT YOU CAN DO
You can support the Sea Shepherd or any other organizations that help whales. You can also learn more by visiting my blog again next Sunday.
