Bluefin Tuna

INTERESTING FACTS
The Bluefin Tuna is one of the biggest, fastest, and most beautifully colored fish in the world! Their aerodynamic bodies are made for speed and endurance. The shiny blue color is for blending in with it's environment. The average size is 6.5 feet long and 550 pounds but bigger Bluefin is not uncommon at all. The Bluefin is one of the only warm blooded fish in the world! They live to around 15 years old.

STATUS
There are only 9,000 left in the world! Only enough for every one in New York to have a bite!

WHY THREATENED
 They are threatened by overfishing!

WHAT YOU CAN DO
Try to eat a minimal amount of Bluefin tuna by checking with stores and restaurants about what kind of tuna it is.
